How QitketsQat handles information, in plain English. The short version: we do not track you, and there is very little to handle.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
The short version
- QitketsQat is a static information website. It has no user accounts, comments, newsletter, analytics, advertising or social media plugins.
- The site sets no cookies. Fonts, images and scripts all come from our own server, so your browser contacts no third party while you read.
- Your browser may keep up to two small entries in its local storage,
qitketsqat.consentandqitketsqat.prefs. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. - Our hosting provider processes technical data, such as IP addresses, in server log files to keep the site secure and available.
- If you email us, we use your message and address only to deal with your request.
Who is responsible
The controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the operator of qitketsqat.online, the QitketsQat editorial team. For any question about this policy or about your data, write to info@qitketsqat.online.
Because the processing described here is very limited, we have not appointed a data protection officer. Privacy requests are handled by the editorial team at the same address.
What we do not collect
We have deliberately built the site so that it gathers as little as possible. In particular, QitketsQat uses:
- no analytics, statistics or heat-mapping tools;
- no advertising, remarketing or tracking pixels, and no browser fingerprinting;
- no social media buttons, embedded posts, videos or maps;
- no third-party fonts: Unbounded and Manrope are self-hosted, so no data goes to a font provider;
- no hotlinked images: every photo is stored on our own server rather than loaded from Wikimedia Commons.
We do not sell or rent personal data, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we make no automated decisions about anyone.
Server log files
Whenever your browser requests a page or file, the web server that hosts qitketsqat.online records technical information about the request. Our hosting provider may process:
- your IP address;
- the date and time of the request;
- the page or file requested, the response status and the amount of data transferred;
- the referrer, meaning the page you came from, if your browser sends it;
- the user agent, meaning your browser type and version and your operating system.
Purpose: to deliver the pages, keep the site stable, detect and fend off attacks such as attempts to overload the server, and investigate errors. We do not combine log data with other sources and do not use it to identify individual visitors.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and reliable operation of the website.
Retention: log files are kept only as long as these purposes require, normally a few days to a few weeks, and are then deleted or anonymised. Entries needed to investigate a specific security incident may be kept until that incident has been dealt with.
Local storage in your browser
Instead of cookies, the site's own script uses your browser's local storage (localStorage) for at most two entries:
qitketsqat.consent(strictly necessary) records the choice you make in the cookie notice, so that the notice does not reappear on every page. It holds four values:necessary: true,preferences: trueorfalse,version: 1and atimestampwith the date and time of your choice.qitketsqat.prefs(preferences) exists only if you allow preferences. It holds your display mode:theme: "light"or"dark".
These entries are written and read only by the script running in your browser. They are not transmitted to our server or to anyone else, and they contain no name, address or identifier. They have no expiry date and remain until you change your choice or clear the site data in your browser. If you switch preferences off, the script deletes qitketsqat.prefs straight away.
Legal basis: storing your consent choice is strictly necessary for the consent function you use, so it does not itself require consent under Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and the national laws implementing it. Where the GDPR applies, the basis is Art. 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in respecting and remembering your choice. Your display preference is stored only with your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you can withdraw at any time. The cookie policy explains each entry in more detail.
Contacting us
The form on our contact page does not send anything to our server. When you press its button, your browser opens your own email program with a message addressed to us, containing a subject line, your message, your name and your email address. The website does not store what you type, and nothing reaches us until you send that email yourself.
When you write to us, we process your email address, your name, the content of your message and the technical information your email provider adds, in order to read and answer it.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and correcting the guide. Where your message asks us to take a specific step, such as changing the credit for a photograph you took, the basis is Art. 6(1)(b). Where the law requires us to keep correspondence, for example to document how we handled a data protection request, the basis is Art. 6(1)(c).
Retention: we delete correspondence once the matter is closed and no longer needed, normally within twelve months, unless a legal obligation requires us to keep it for longer.
Recipients and processors
We do not pass personal data to third parties for their own purposes. The only recipients are service providers that process data on our behalf and on our instructions:
- our hosting provider, which runs the web server and its log files;
- our email provider, which runs the mailbox for info@qitketsqat.online.
They act as processors under Art. 28 GDPR. We disclose data to public authorities only where we are legally obliged to do so (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
International transfers
We do not intend to transfer personal data to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. If a service provider ever processes data outside the EU or EEA, we will make sure an adequate level of protection is in place, for example through an adequacy decision of the European Commission or the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 44 to 49 GDPR).
Links to other websites
Our pages link to other websites, such as official venue information, Wikimedia Commons and the Creative Commons licence texts. Nothing is loaded from those sites while you read our pages. Once you follow a link, the other site's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access to the data we hold about you and information about how we process it (Art. 15);
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16);
- Erasure of your data where the legal conditions are met (Art. 17);
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- Data portability, meaning a copy of data you gave us in a common, machine-readable format (Art. 20);
- Objection at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) (Art. 21);
- Withdrawal of consent at any time, with effect for the future, for example by choosing "Only necessary" in the cookie settings (Art. 7(3));
- Complaint to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or work or where you believe an infringement took place (Art. 77).
To exercise these rights, write to info@qitketsqat.online. We may ask for information to confirm your identity, and we reply within the time limits set by law, normally one month. Because we do not link log entries to names, we may only be able to find data about you in server logs if you tell us details such as the time of your visit and your IP address (Art. 11 GDPR).
Security
When the site is served over https, all traffic between your browser and the server is encrypted with TLS. The site is static: it has no database, no user accounts and no forms that submit data to the server, so there is very little personal data to protect in the first place. Access to the server and to our mailbox is restricted to the people who need it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the site or the law changes, for instance if we add a feature that handles data differently. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change needs your consent, such as a new storage category, the cookie notice will ask you again.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you want to know what data we hold about you, write to info@qitketsqat.online. See also our cookie policy and terms of use.
